1986 (MLB): Boston Red Sox ace Roger Clemens becomes the first MLB pitcher to strike out 20 batters in a 9-inning game as the Red Sox defeat the Seattle Mariners 3-1 at Fenway Park. Boston was a -150 favorite as Clemens would finish the season 24-4 and go on to win the American League Cy Young and MVP awards.


1988 (MLB): After starting the season 0-21 and setting the MLB record for worst start in MLB history, the Baltimore Orioles finally earn their first victory of the season as they beat the Chicago White Sox 9-0 at Comiskey Park. The Orioles were +150 underdogs as they would go on to finish the season with a 54-107 (.335) record.


2005 (MLB): The 5th pair of 300-game winners in MLB history face off against each other when Chicago Cubs starter Greg Maddux (305 wins) defeats Roger Clemens (329 wins) and the Houston Astors 3-2. The Cubs were +135 road underdogs.


2011 (NBA): As a 3-point favorite, #8 seed Memphis Grizzlies defeated the San Antonio Spurs 99-91 in Game 6 of the first round of the playoffs and wrapped up the series 4-2. The Grizzlies were +280 underdogs to win the series as they became just the fourth #8 seed to beat a #1 seed in the NBA playoffs. They would go on to lose in the next round to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 7 games.
